Why It Matters

About this event

Celebrate summer along the shores of Lake Michigan at Sunset Over the Beach, a memorable evening benefiting the Ouilmette Foundation. Join friends, neighbors and community supporters on Saturday, August 1, from 7–9:30 pm at Gillson Beach for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, bonfires, beachside fun and giving back.

This adults-only (21+) event raises funds for scholarships, special projects—including the restoration of the Wallace Bowl in Gillson Park—and other initiatives that enhance parks, recreation and community opportunities throughout Wilmette.

Guests are encouraged to make a night of it by picking up dinner from one of our sponsoring local restaurants and bringing it to the beach to enjoy while taking in spectacular lakefront views and a beautiful summer sunset.

15% of all restaurant proceeds will be donated back to the Foundation.

The evening will feature music and dancing with Wilmette resident DJ Karl, a large beach bonfire, a cash bar featuring beverages provided by Fat Shallot and beautiful floral décor by Wilmette resident and FlowersFlowers owner Amanda Ault.

Whether you're gathering with friends, enjoying a date night, or simply looking for a unique way to support the community, Sunset Over the Beach offers the perfect blend of summer fun and philanthropy.
